“At Thunder & Lightning Basketball, we believe in keeping youth sports accessible and fair. We do not charge monthly dues or enrollment fees like many other AAU programs. The only costs families are responsible for are gym fees and a fair split of tournament fees for each player. That’s it. No hidden charges, no money grabs—just focused coaching and a love for the game.” (However Spots Are Limited)

How It Started
“Thunder & Lightning Basketball was founded in September 2021 by John Iszard (I-S-Z-A-R-D) as a small coed recreational team. Unlike other programs that run multiple teams in one session, we focus on only three teams, giving each team individualized attention and dedicated practice time. Our club has built a winning culture, achieving several AAU tournament wins and 15 recreational league championships (North County & Top Ballers). With extremely low turnover, many of our players have been with us for years, allowing us to foster long-term growth, skill development, and team cohesion. Based in Yorba Linda, California, Thunder & Lightning continues to prioritize quality coaching and player development.”
